BV is one of the most common types of companies in the Netherlands and is also one of the most popular types of companies. It is a limited liability company, and its shareholders can be individuals or corporations. The minimum registered capital for a BV is 1 euro, but it is recommended to have at least 2000 euros when opening an account and applying for a tax number. Shareholders and directors of a BV can be of any nationality, and there is no need for a local resident to serve, nor is it necessary to appoint a legal representative. However, after the company is established, it is required to actually pay in 100% of the registered capital. Therefore, although there is no need for capital verification, it is still necessary to ensure that the company has enough funds to operate. A BV does not need to publicly participate in the market, so it can protect the privacy of shareholders.
